Rooftop bars are an excellent way to gain a new perspective of the city that you’re visiting. They offer great views and a certain kind of unique atmosphere.
There are many great rooftop bars in Amsterdam, so it can be hard to choose where to go. However, the following rooftop bars are definitely worth visiting:
1. W Lounge
The W Lounge is located on the sixth floor of the W Amsterdam hotel, which is a beautiful boutique hotel. Just have a look at that swimming pool!
The bar offers a luxurious and chic atmosphere with stunning views of the city. If you’re looking for an elegant rooftop bar, this is the place to be.
The bar has an extensive list of cocktails, wines, and spirits. Especially the cocktail with white chocolate and raspberries is really delicious. The W Lounge has a very sophisticated and stylish ambiance, hence I would highly recommend a visit.

2. Zoku Amsterdam
Zoku Amsterdam is a unique concept that combines co-living and co-working spaces with a rooftop bar. It’s definitely a hidden gem in Amsterdam and it’s also a great place to stay at.
The bar is located on the seventh floor of the building and offers a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere.
Zoku Amsterdam is a great place to unwind after a long day of work or exploring the city. It’s more of a laid-back rooftop bar and it has a really cosy vibe to it. Besides, the views of Amsterdam here truly make it a must-visit.

3. REM – Restaurant | Bar | Rooftop
REM – Restaurant | Bar | Rooftop is located in Amsterdam-Noord and offers stunning views of Amsterdam. As the name suggests, there is also a restaurant here. The food is incredible, so if you’re looking for dinner, this spot is definitely your place to be.
The building of REM is also very unique and makes it a bar worth visiting. If you’re looking for a rooftop bar which serves great dinner, definitely head to REM.

4. Twenty Third Bar
Twenty Third Bar is located on the twenty-third floor of the well-known luxurious Okura Hotel and offers a spectacular view of the city. The bar offers an elegant atmosphere with a selection of cocktails, wines, and spirits.
Twenty Third Bar is without a doubt the perfect spot for a special occasion or a romantic evening.
I would especially highly recommend heading to Twenty Third Bar to watch the sunset from here. They have great cocktails in an intimate setting.

5. Canvas
Canvas is located on the 7th floor of the Volkshotel and offers a relaxed atmosphere. The bar serves a range of cocktails, beers, and wines, but also delicious food. Canvas is known for its laid-back vibe and is especially a great spot to enjoy a drink with some friends.
If you’re looking for a rooftop bar with a chilled atmosphere, I would recommend to go to Canvas. When visiting on the weekends, make sure to make a reservation before hand. Keep in mind that you can only pay by card.

6. On the Roof
On the Roof is not really a typical rooftop bar. However, I do find it worth mentioning here as it’s really an off the beaten path cultural venue in Amsterdam.
On the Roof is the perfect place to enjoy some music and drinks at the same time. It’s a unique concept in Amsterdam-Noord.
If you’re looking for an intimate setting to enjoy a concert, definitely head to On the Roof. Do check out beforehand if there is a gig taking place.
The gigs mostly take place between June and September. The bar is PIN-only so keep this in mind when visiting.

7. A’DAM Tower
A’DAM Tower is located on the north side of Amsterdam and offers a stunning view of the city. The tower is home to a couple of luxurious bars and restaurants.
The Lookout is located on the top floor of the tower and offers an observation deck with 360-degree views of the city. I would highly recommend a visit to the A’DAM Tower if you’re looking for a rooftop bar with amazing views of Amsterdam.
There is also a restaurant which offers delicious food. For a fee you can enjoy the swing located on the roof to get even better views of the city. I would say A’DAM Tower is definitely a must-visit place during your time in Amsterdam.

8. Sky Bar Ijburg
This is the kind of place that has been on your list for a while and when you finally visit it, you realize you should’ve gone way earlier! It’s a bit of a hidden gem, as it’s not filled with tourists or locals yet.
This is possibly due to its location, as it’s not located in the centre but at Ijburg in Amsterdam, on top of the elegant Four Elements Hotel.
It’s actually very nice that it’s still a peaceful place to enjoy a drink. And what’s even better is that it has some amazing views.
Even though it says it’s open from 17:00 o’clock, I recommend getting there a little later, as they’re not always open precisely at this time.

9. Up on the roof at NEMO
This rooftop bar is located on the roof of the NEMO Science Museum and offers a unique and fun atmosphere. I would say it’s more a cafe than a bar. The roof is open every day from 10.00 to 17.30, so keep this in mind.
Up on the roof at NEMO is known for its playful and colorful decor, making it especially a great spot for families and those looking for a fun and unique rooftop experience in Amsterdam.
