How to get to Maashotel in Rotterdam?

So what is the easiest way to get to the Maashotel Rotterdam Centre?

The tram and metro stops right in front of the hotel. The metro stop is called Leuvehaven. Public transport tickets are available at the reception. There are also water taxis available that stop close to the hotel.

It’s good to know that the hotel is also known as Inntel Hotels Rotterdam Centre.

The exact address is: Leuvehaven 80, 3011 EA Rotterdam

What to expect at Maashotel Rotterdam during NYE?

So, what can you really expect when staying at the four-star Maashotel Rotterdam Centre during this time of the year? What is the room like and are the facilities any good?

The room itself

Book a King Deluxe room with river view to get the best views. I would highly recommend booking this type of room and then requesting for a room with views on the Erasmusbrug.

The views from here are absolutely epic during this time of the year. You’ll be able to watch fireworks in front of your window. I’m not exaggerating. It truly feels magical and like a one-of-a-kind type of experience.

The national fireworks show starts at midnight 00.00, but you’ll see lots of consumer fireworks before this time. To be honest, I found the consumer fireworks even more impressive than the show itself, as they we’re literally in front of the window.

When will you ever experience this again? I must admit it’s pricey, our room was something between 300-400 euros per night. However, the experience makes up for this.

Here you can check the latest prices and availability. Prices go up for NYE and you should book well in advance to get a room with the best views.

The room itself is spacious, but not too large. There’s a bureau, television and two comfortable chairs located in the room.

Besides, there’s a small fridge and small table in the room. There’s also a water kettle in the room with free tea and coffee sachets.

The bed is really comfortable and the sheets make your skin feel soft.

Here you’ll find some photo impressions of the room itself to give you a clear view of what to expect:

In the bathroom there’s a rain shower AND a bath, which is very luxurious. There’s a window in the bath room. The bath is not extremely big, but it’s still very relaxing.

Facilities at Maashotel

The facilities and the service at the hotel are very good. Do keep in mind that breakfast is not included in the price. You can have breakfast included at a higher rate.

Entry to the sauna’s and entry to the indoor swimming pool is included in the price.

This area of the hotel is called Wellness Club H20. It’s free accessible and is located on the 8th floor.

The wellness area includes a swimming pool, Finnish sauna, Turkish steam bath and Life Fitness Gym. Bathing suit is required in Wellness Club H20.

Restaurants

There’s a bar and restaurant in the hotel. They’re called Bar & Brasserie Water, and Restaurant Down Under.

Honestly, I preferred to just relax in our room. You can bring your own champagne, ask for champagne glasses at the restaurant and have your own magical experience. From here you can admire the national firework show and other consumer fireworks.

It’s good to know that there’s an ice machine on the 3rd and 8th floor of the hotel, ideal if you want your drinks extra cold.

If you prefer to order food instead of eating at one of the restaurants, then you can order at thuisbezorgd.nl . The delivery person can call you when they’ve arrived and you can receive your food at the lobby.

This is what we did. We ordered sushi from Nola Sushi and continued admiring the fireworks while eating. It was only 42 euros, so saved us a lot of money compared to going out for dinner at one of the restaurants.

If you do want to visit the bar or restaurant, it would be handy to make a reservation in advance.

Bar & Brasserie Water

This is a bar and restaurant. It’s located left from the hotel. It has all day dining. As the reviews weren’t too good, I haven’t tried the bar-restaurant myself.

Restaurant Down Under

It’s a little confusing how to get here. When at the reception, walk the alleyway to the left. Then you’ll arrive at Mainport Hotel. Take the stairs down to find this restaurant. It has nice views over the water. The restaurant describes itself as ‘’where East meets West’’.

Is it worth staying at Maashotel during New Year’s Eve?

Although it’s expensive, it truly is worth staying at Maashotel during NYE. And to be honest, New Year’s Eve is always expensive, so spending money on this experience is definitely worth it.

You’ll be able to watch fireworks from your room without having to stand in the cold. It feels really surreal. So if you get the chance, book your stay in advance. Book a riverside room and request for views of the Erasmusbrug.

What about the day after?

It’s good to know that the day after there will hardly be anything open. Rotterdam feels a bit like a ghost town when walking around. If you’ve booked breakfast with your stay, then you can just have breakfast at the hotel.

If you haven’t, it might be difficult to find a place to eat. However, there will be a few places open. In 2024 on the 1st of January La Mozza was open. It’s small, but worth visiting. Here you’ll get one of the best sandwiches you’ve ever tasted.

Another good place for a coffee or some breakfast/lunch (that was open on New Year’s Day 2024) is Cafe Unfiltered. This is a cute coffee spot in the heart of Rotterdam. The aesthetic is very minimalistic and clean.

In conclusion

Staying at Maashotel Rotterdam during New Year’s Eve has something magical. Bring some champagne, order some sushi and admire the fireworks from your room. It’s a unique experience and the price is truly worth it.

So book your stay at Maashotel during NYE in the Netherlands and experience a night you won’t forget.
